New opportunity not to be missed. NFER is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Research Director to join the team based in Slough. Joining us on a full time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £48,817 - £54,948 per annum and the level of appointment and associated salary will reflect qualifications and experience.

Our work in educational assessment continues to grow and diversify. Following an internal promotion we are seeking to appoint a Research Director with significant experience of educational assessment, people and project management to join our assessment team to lead the development and delivery of contracted assessment and research projects.

Working with the Head of Contracted Assessments & Research, the Research Director will contribute to the further development of our external assessments project portfolio and its value for our clients, policy makers and practitioners. The post holder will also work closely with NFER’s curriculum, psychometrics and research specialists.

Outward facing, enthusiastic, proactive and an experienced leader with proven skills in managing people and teams, the successful Research Director will have:

  • An understanding of the design and use of assessment systems and tests, educational curricula and qualifications
  • Work experience gained in schools or other educational environments
  • Experience of working successfully with senior stakeholders and policy makers
