The Directorate of Finance and Legal Services are seeking a confident and experienced CCAB and project management qualified Project Management Accountant to provide support and training to business project managers, and to provide support and advice to the Strategic Change Board on the progress of business projects in the University. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide challenge and support to project managers and to the process of creating business cases and PIDs for approval, working with the Head of Corporate Reporting in Corporate Finance and liaising with the Project Management Office (PMO) in the IT service.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting project and programme managers in budget construction for business cases
  • Ensuring that revenue and capital expenditure is correctly identified, one off and on-going revenue implications
  • Ensuring VFM principles have been fully met in evaluating proposed business cases
  • Identifying which faculty, directorate or central activity will own the business case and the budget and be responsible for on-going maintenance and licence costs
  • Ensuring that all approved and planned project costs are built into the annual budgetary and five year financial planning process for the University
  • Challenging the basis and robustness of the costings of new business cases before they are presented to the Board

You should have:

  • A project management qualification
  • Experience in project management governance and processes
  • Excellent communication and IT skills
  • Ability to demonstrate innovation and business insightfulness.
