Job overview:

The Department of Accounting, Economics & Finance within the Faculty of Business & Law is seeking to recruit a Professor of Accounting. This post presents an opportunity to work with a dynamic team specialising in a variety of research areas.

The post holder is expected to excel in one of the three core domains of ‘Research with Impact’, ‘Learning and Teaching’ or ‘Knowledge Exchange, Business and Public Engagement and Innovation’. 

You will also be expected to be producing highly ranked journal articles and making a strong contribution to the next REF, and should also be able to promote research and encourage innovation within the subject group as well as increase our research profile externally. You will be committed to the development of talent and have a track record of income generation.

You will be a member of, and make a significant contribution to, the Department’s research centre, the Bristol Centre for Economics and Finance. Current research within the accounting field spans corporate financial reporting, management accounting, earnings management, market-based accounting, auditing, pensions accounting, corporate social responsibility and accounting education.

You will supervise PhD students in your area of expertise and deliver excellent teaching in your area of specialism, becoming fully engaged in the strategic management of the subject group and Department.
