Detail information about job Postdoctoral Scientist - Immunology. Terms and conditions vacancy

We seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to be part of Professor Graham Ogg’s group within the Radcliffe Department of Medicine. The post holder will be based at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. The successful candidate will be involved in translational research into cellular immunology, molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, including multichromatic flow cytometry and antigen specific T cell culture and cloning and functional T cell assays.

The aim of this project is to characterise the role of CD1a-restricted T cells in inflammatory skin disease. Having established newly discovered pathways of skin inflammation in which self and foreign lipids are presented by CD1a to T cells, the laboratory is now defining the implications for disease and new approaches to treatment. Specific aims will be based upon: identification of novel CD1a lipid antigens which may be activatory or inhibitory; defining mechanisms of lipid loading into CD1a; defining the structural basis for the findings, likely through collaborations; progression of the findings through the translational pathway.

To be considered for this role you should have a PhD (or near to completion) in immunology or a related field. You should also have experience and proven research skills in multichromatic flow cytometry analysis and functional T cell assays.

This position is fixed-term for up to 2 years.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. You will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application.

Only applications received before 12.00 midday on Wednesday 13 September 2017 will be considered.
