Detail information about job Postdoctoral Research Associate. Terms and conditions vacancy

This role will support the work of Professor Gáspár Jékely. This LSI funded post is available from the 1st of October 2017 for one year. You will be responsible for calcium imaging and neuronal connectomics in the marine annelid Platynereis. The post will include microinjection, calcium imaging, image analysis, neuron tracing, network analysis and behavioural experiments.

About you

You will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies. You should possess a relevantPhd (or be nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will have experience in marine larval biology, molecular biology, calcium imaging, image analysis, and python programming. The successful candidate will have relevant first author publications (preprints will be considered, manuscripts in preparation not).
