Band 500 - Annual Salary is in the range of £35,297 to £40,863 (inclusive of shift allowance and contractual overtime).

The University operates an Energy Centre that provide steam and electricity to the campus. The installation comprises of 2 CHP units with a total output of 7.2MW with associated waste heat boilers and additional standby package boilers to meet site demand.

We wish to recruit two Energy Centre Technical Assistants to operate on a two shift system (12 hours, 4 on, 4 off) and who will report through to the Energy Centre Technician and the Energy Centre Manager.  There will be occasions where the Technical Assistant will be in sole charge of the Energy Centre.

You will have CITB or EITB apprenticeship, plus significant experience with a BOAS or C&G boiler operator’s certificate or Merchant/ Royal Navy Engineering Certificate or equivalent.  Multi-skilled maintenance experience with a can do approach.
