Purpose and Main Duties
We’re seeking a highly talented communications expert to join our award-winning Media, Communications and Events team. With a proven track record in delivering effective and successful communications campaigns, you’ll help to build our reputation and tell Birkbeck’s unique story to local, regional and national audiences.
You will be involved in all aspects of communications, including producing a full range of content for Birkbeck’s digital channels including video and audio assets, and will take a proactive approach to promoting news and research through external owned and earned channels.
Candidate Requirements
A skilled digital communicator and multimedia content producer, with a highly trained news sense, you’ll know how to harness the power of digital to deliver our news and engage our community. Politically astute, you will be confident working with people at all levels of the organisation on issues and opportunities.
As the voice of Birkbeck, you will be a passionate advocate of this unique institution and take pride in building its profile and engaging its communities.
Further Information
Salary: Grade 7 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £36,548 rising to £41,772 per annum.
This post is full time, 35 hours per week (1.0 FTE) and fixed term for 12 months. The salary quoted above is on the College's London Pay Scale and includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the Greater London area. The initial salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment is subject to a probationary period of 6 months.
