A research assistant position is available in Dr Eva Gluenz’s group at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, University of Oxford to study the role of flagellar proteins in the virulence of Leishmania parasites. The project will involve generation of a library of knockout mutants using CRISPR-Cas9 tools we have recently developed for Leishmania and analysis of cells using molecular and microscopy-based methods.
This is a fixed-term appointment for up to 24 months in the first instance.
Applicants should hold a first degree in a biological sciences subject have practical experience in basic molecular biology techniques and possess excellent organisational and communication skills. Experience of cell culture would also be desirable.
