Job DescriptionArchaeological Services Durham University provides archaeological and heritage services to the development industry. As part of the Archaeology Department, it also supports departmental teaching and research, for example through the provision of research fieldwork and student training programmes. The range of activities conducted is wide, and includes excavation, evaluation, geophysical surveying, artefact conservation, and palaeoenvironmental analysis. The focus of operations is in northern Britain, although works are often conducted elsewhere in the UK and abroad.

The principal duty of the post holder will be to assist with a variety of project-based fieldwork. The post-holder will also be expected to enhance their skills through training and instruction from Archaeological Services personnel.

Working hours will be 35 per week, Monday to Friday.
