The University of Westminster is a leading provider of music courses with a history dating back to 1993. The Westminster School of Media Arts and Design is located at Northwick Park, Harrow, and embraces state of the art media facilities. There is a thriving community of student, academics, researchers, technical and professionals in the School. Programmes range from short courses, undergraduate, post graduate, doctoral study, in the arts, sciences and professions of music, photography and film.

As Team Leader, Music Technology and Production, you will lead and manage the music technical team at the heart of our School of Media, Art & Design managing our new state-of-the-art Music Recording Studio, helping staff, students and external users make the most of the latest high-end equipment. 

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of different music productions, from live music events, professional as well as student recording sessions, promotional material and artistic content for commercial release, broadcast and other distribution channels. You will also give support during classes; supervise junior staff; and use sophisticated tools and systems yourself for music production and recordings.

To join us, you must have relevant experience or a degree related to audio or music production. You will certainly have worked on various recording projects and have used industry standard equipment. This should include Logic, Pro Tools Suites and other related software. You will also have hardware experience with mixing consoles, microphones and other music/audio devices/equipment. 

Relevant previous experience in studio / equipment / resource management is essential. This may have been in higher education and/or in a technically orientated music industry or commercial environment. Please note that you would be required to work flexibly including evenings and weekends on music/audio performance and production.
