UCL Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering (CEGE) is a multidisciplinary department with a long tradition of excellence in teaching and research. We currently hold the largest EPSRC research portfolio in civil engineering, with research projects and centres linking with industry leaders and reflecting a broad multidisciplinary view of the engineering world.

The Departmental Manager will lead the professional services operations of the department, delivering operational excellence across all administrative activities including supporting both teaching and research. The appointee will also manage and develop department-wide resources including staff, finances, health and safety, security, and estates. The role works closely with colleagues in the department, the faculty and institution. This role will coincide with the opening of CEGE's new research facilities at Here East at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and will include a new state of the art structural and environmental laboratory with a dual indoor-outdoor environmental chamber as well as shared robotics facilities.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and have proven experience of administration and management in higher education or similar environment. Financial skills, such as budgeting, financial reporting and analysis are essential, as are strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and the flexibility to be able to respond to the changing priorities of a varied workload.
