Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate position at the Department of Physics, University of Bath. The successful applicant will play a key role in the development of theory and numerical simulations of generation of optical frequency combs in the whispering microresonators with a variety of nonlinear and gain materials. The successful candidate will have an excellent research record in one or more of the following: computational photonics, nonlinear photonics, soliton theory, computational and nonlinear physics. Applications from candidates willing and able to contribute to development of research proposals in the broad area of theoretical and computational, engage with existing and develop new collaborations on the topic are particularly encouraged. Prior experience with preparing research publications for the top international journals is highly desirable.

You will be based jointly within the Centre for Photonics and Photonic Materials and the Theoretical and Computational Physics Group in the Department of Physics.  This post is funded by a Leverhulme Trust project and comes within a remit of the existing EU Horizon 2020 and the Royal Society funding supporting international links with Israel, Russia, Sweden and South Africa.
