The Procurement department plays an important role in supporting the College in procuring a diverse range of goods, services and works which are critical to the successful operation of the College.

We are looking to expand in order to ensure our procurement arrangements reflect the College strategy by embedding a category managed approach and delivering value for money through high quality arrangements.

As a senior member of the team you will need a high level of commercial acumen and the ability to build strong, productive relationships with a diverse stakeholder group - including academic and research staff, heads of the departments and key external suppliers and partners.

The Procurement Business Manager will be at the heart of the department ensuring we operate in the most effective and efficient manner delivering maximum value back to the College.

The overall purpose of this role is to develop and manage all aspects of procurement governance and all aspects of the performance of procurement across the College. Develop and maintain a contract record database and be the central subject matter expert on Sourcing & Supplier Management and P2P processes and systems.

A key element of the Procurement Business Manager is the support and communication across the College.

You will have strong communication skills and experience in building relationships at senior levels, as well as a good understanding of procurement best practice and excellent awareness of Public Contract Regulations.

You will have previous experience of working with e-tendering, P2P and market place systems. As well as having a good understanding of contract management and the ability to identify key contract issues and risks.

The successful applicant will ideally be MCIPS or willing to study towards this. You will be able to demonstrate your significant experience in developing, managing and implementing best practice procedures, processes and report demonstrable savings and benefits.
