School of Public HealthFaculty of Medicine

Salary: £30,770 - £34,960 per annum (pro rata if part time)

Charing Cross Hospital and Stadium House (White City) campuses.

Applications are invited to join the Neuroepidemiology and Ageing (NEA) Research Unit in the School of Public Health at Imperial College London’s White City campus and Charing Cross campus, Hammersmith.

With a rapidly ageing population, age-related neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease, are fast becoming a major focus of public health studies and interventions worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with excellent communication and customer service skills, and an understanding of the challenges of clinical research recruitment, who would like to develop their career in a dynamic clinical research environment.

You will be responsible for recruiting participants into large-scale, high quality clinical research studies looking at the prediction and prevention of dementia. You will be a primary point of contact for volunteers from our register, representing the research unit, and require the ability to communicate confidently and sensitively about study requirements and personal and medical queries and issues, working closely with the full clinical team. You will need to be organised and efficient, experienced in working to targets and deadlines, and able to provide administrative support to improve team work and shared processes. You will also be expected to think creatively and consider new methods to reach out to new volunteers.

This is a full time post for a fixed-term until 31st March 2018 in the first instance with part time hours considered of a minimum of 21 hours per week. The post holder will hold a degree or equivalent experience in a relevant science or health-related field such as psychology or biomedical science.

Please not that as this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, a satisfactory enhanced level Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for the successful candidate.
