Detail information about job Lecturer in the Physical Sciences. Terms and conditions vacancy

The Department of Natural Sciences is part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering and is based at Thornton Science Park, a major research and innovation hub for the North-West of the UK. In addition to the Faculty, Thornton Science Park also houses a range of small and medium sized technology-based companies, and is home to a number of co-located University initiatives. The Faculty complements and supports high grade private sector companies undertaking research and development in their specialist science and technology fields.

The Department of Natural Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer to teach and to lead aspects of the undergraduate curriculum, focusing on inorganic chemistry and/or materials science. The post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person to make a valuable contribution to the progress of the Department, with the potential to develop new modules and teaching initiatives. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to our friendly and supportive cross-disciplinary learning environment. The Faculty of Science and Engineering maintains a collegiate approach to teaching and research, with several modules taught across a range of courses. Candidates may therefore be expected to contribute inter-departmental teaching and research. The post holder will also be expected to engage in research in a topic area that has synergy with the current research activities of the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

You must possess a PhD in a related field, or be willing to achieve one within an agreed timescale. You must also have experience of teaching in Higher Education, and have the subject knowledge necessary to teach in the specified areas.
