Detail information about job Teaching Associate. Terms and conditions vacancy

Lancaster University has a world-class reputation as a centre for excellence in teaching and research. It is highly ranked in each of the UK’s major university league tables. The Division of Biomedical and Life Sciences (BLS), within the Faculty of Health and Medicine, now seeks to appoint a Teaching Associate/Senior Teaching Associate to contribute to delivery of our undergraduate programmes as we continue to expand our student numbers and grow our international profile.

We want you to become part of a rapidly growing, innovative and vibrant Division that delivers teaching and learning to over 500 undergraduate students across a range of undergraduate programmes in Biological and Biomedical Sciences. You will be required to contribute to undergraduate modules in molecular, cellular and biomedical biology, by delivering lectures, workshops, tutorials and practical classes, and by designing and marking assessments.

We expect you to participate fully in the intellectual and collective life of the division and to develop a high quality teaching portfolio that enhances our teaching provision. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about biology, is able to teach a range of topics, motivate students effectively, and provide pastoral support for undergraduate students.

In return the Division can offer you a friendly environment that strongly supports the individual needs of each employee and which actively promotes a healthy work-life balance. The Faculty is committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies and has held a Silver Athena SWAN award since 2014 in recognition of its good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education and research.

This position is fixed term for a period of three years. Appointments may be made on a full-time, part-time, or job-share basis. Interviews are expected to be held on 2nd October 2017. We anticipate that the appointment will commence within a month following the interview date.
