The newly established Manchester Fashion Institute located within the Faculty of Art and Humanities, is a multi-disciplinary partnership at Manchester Metropolitan University, bringing together fashion expertise and talent from across the University, Manchester and the world. Role

We are looking for a Lecturer with industrial and/or teaching experience in fashion Merchandising. Candidates will have experience of managing stock and service levels in multi-channel retail organisations, using ICT systems to monitor KPIs. Candidates should have knowledge of critical path management relating to service and stock levels, as well as an understanding of how this role relates to the broader business needs. The successful candidate will primarily teach on the BA (Hons) Fashion Buying and Merchandising, taking responsibility for units and contributing to the successful management of the programme.

Continued research and professional development is expected, successful candidates will also be expected to participate in knowledge exchange activities in order to contribute to the development of new areas of research and enterprise within the subject area.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and will have relevant industry experience and/or experience of designing and delivering engaging relevant material to large groups as well as providing support to students on a small group and one to one basis. All staff within the department embed employability into their material as well as offering support in securing placements and graduate roles via tutorial support.

They should possess a degree/higher degree in the relevant area and have evidence of continuous professional development. A PG teaching qualification in the relevant area is desirable.
