Detail information about job Technician in Art and Design. Terms and conditions vacancy

The Department of Art and Design is a vibrant and established element of the University of Chester, providing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across a range of visual arts and design disciplines based at the recently refurbished Kingsway Campus in Chester.

We require a flexible, organised, and innovative individual to support the realisation of ideas through making across the Product and Interior Design courses, with experience in both hands-on making and digital output. The role will involve supporting students in realising of their concepts/designs – especially in mock-ups for testing and development and in model-making/prototyping to presentation levels.

Your duties will include the day-to-day running of the 3D construction workshop, assisting students to extend their analogue and digital skills and understanding of technical construction, assembly, and finishing processes. Experience and knowledge of model making, industrial manufacturing process, and digital making would be a distinct advantage.
