Detail information about job Research Associate (Statistician) - A83008R. Terms and conditions vacancy
You will work with Professor James Wason on methodological research with applications to clinical trials as part of the Biostatistics Research Group (http://research.ncl.ac.uk/ihsbiostats/). The Institute hosts several groups of methodologists, along with a National Institute for Health Research Design Service, and is linked to a UKCRC Registered Clinical Trials Unit. The current methodology research interests of the group are adaptive trial designs, biomarker-guided trials and analysis of composite endpoints. However other areas of research in the field of statistical methods for efficient design and analysis of clinical trials would be of interest also. There will be opportunities to be involved in the supervision of a PhD student and to collaborate with other statisticians in the group.
You will be a suitably qualified statistician (with either a PhD or a postgraduate qualification with a track record of published methodology work) interested in working on novel statistical methodology and applying it in real trials.
Experience of one or more statistical analysis packages (R, STATA, SAS) is essential.
The post is available for 3 years. The start date is flexible but ideally would be January 2018.
Informal enquiries may be made to James Wason via e-mail to [email protected].
Information about the Institute is available at www.ncl.ac.uk/ihs
