The School of Information Risk Management is looking to recruit trainers to deliver the level 4 Cyber Intrusion Analyst and level 4 Cyber Security Technologist Apprenticeship programmes.

The School of Information Risk Management (SIRM) is a small but growing private further and higher education college, specialising in bespoke courses relating to Management, Healthcare and Information Security.

Hours: FlexibleContract Type: Contractor (15 months minimum; renewable)

Duties will include:

  • Provide customised high quality blended delivery.
  • Develop apprentice understanding of the apprenticeship standard.
  • Complete apprentice induction paperwork and support the induction process as requested
  • Visit each apprentice in the workplace on a regular basis in order to assess their progress and deliver teaching sessions.
  • Provide accurate and up to date reports on performance against learner performance and completion targets and objectives agreed in their Individual Learning Plan (ILP).
  • Design and develop learning materials.
  • Identify projects within the apprentices’ day to day duties that can provide evidence to map against the competencies and for a portfolio of evidence.
  • Deliver and assess any additional knowledge not provided to apprentice by their employer.
  • Deliver learner portfolios, assignments and complete assessment in accordance with the required and agreed standards.
  • Carry out progress reviews with apprentices and employers.
  • Manage and complete administration within given deadlines i.e. schemes of work, lesson plans, review documents, reports etc.
  • Support the quality improvement plan and SAR.
  • Work with internal and external partners to ensure that agreed quality standards are met.
  • Work effectively with the employers to ensure that learners successfully complete their full apprenticeship framework by their planned achievement date.
  • Play an active part in promotion and awareness of Equality & Diversity across the business and externally as appropriate.
  • Play an active part in the promotion and awareness of Safeguarding of learners across the business and externally as appropriate, and to help prevent acts of radicalisation and extremism.
  • Motivate and support all learners to achieve their full potential.
  • Ensure training premises, facilities and materials are organised in time for the commencement of the training.
  • Undertake any other duties (training offered where applicable) in line with business needs.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent organisation and administration skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation/ facilitation skills
  • At least 2 years experience in a role as a Teacher, Lecturer, Trainer, Tutor, Assessor
  • Experience of training and assessing a diverse range of learners
  • Knowledge of the apprenticeship standards
  • Understanding of Ofsted, QAA and Matrix
  • An in-depth understanding of a wide range of learning styles and delivery methods, embracing emerging trends for online/ virtual learning.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold either CTLLs/ DTLLs/ Cert ed/ PGCE/ PTLLS
  • Hold either D32/ D33/ A1/ TAQA/ CAVA
  • Hold Bachelor, Masters or Phd in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
