The role and its responsibilities
We are seeking a new member of staff to help support the key governance processes and committees within the School. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who would like to work in a key central function, learn more about how a university operates and contribute to the effective running of the organisation. They will get to work with a range of staff and members of the School’s Board of Trustees as part of a small team in the Governance & Compliance Directorate.
Skills and experience
This is an important role in the School and the successful applicant will have significant experience of supporting key committees and working with a range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels. They will have a keen attention to detail and enjoy managing governance processes and explaining these to other staff.

About the Governance & Compliance Directorate
The Governance and Compliance Directorate provides central management, guidance and co-ordination for the School’s activities, in conjunction with the SOAS Board of Trustees and supporting committee structure.
The team within the Directorate provides services to the School in a number of professional areas from equality, diversity and inclusion to information compliance as well as committee management.
The Directorate staff provide the essential support to a number of members of the School’s senior management team based in the School’s Directorate including the Director, the Pro-Directors, the Registrar and the Secretary.
