We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant who will be based in the laboratory of Dr Daniel Munoz-Espin, who is a Group Leader in the Department of Oncology at the University of Cambridge. This is a new post funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) and is available from 1 January 2018.

One of the main goals of the Dr Munoz-Espin's research programme is the understanding of the mechanisms and processes that contribute to the origin of cancer, with a focus on lung cancer, and how to translate this knowledge into the development of novel tools for early detection and therapy.

We are looking for a Research Assistant with relevant experience in animal work and colony management. In particular, with animal manipulation, genotyping, administration of substances, tissue and sample collection. In addition, experience in immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence, molecular biology, and cell cultures is desirable, although not essential. Candidates must have a BSc or equivalent in a biological science or equivalent experience. It is also desirable that the successful candidate already holds a Home Office personal license. The Research Assistant will be expected to take an active part in ensuring that best practice is maintained in all regulated procedures. The Research Assistant will provide support to the animal management within the research programme of the group.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 December 2020 in the first instance.
