The Department for Children and Young People’s Health has an exciting opportunity for a Children’s Nurse to join our team as an Assistant Lecturer on a full-time, permanent basis. We are a well-established, supportive, friendly team who work in close partnership with practice partners and students to create an excellent learning environment. As a team we are fully committed to striving for excellence and aim to provide outstanding student experiences. We are determined to become national leaders in the delivery of undergraduate and post graduate education for Children’s Nurses. We are a future thinking, innovative, creative team who aspire to be the best.

As an Assistant Lecturer you will support the design, development and delivery of learning and teaching across nursing programmes, with a particular focus on teaching practical skills and simulation and supporting students in practice ensuring strong theory to practice links. You must be highly motivated, well organised with excellent communication and organisational skills. You must be able to work closely with practice partners, establish clinical links, provide pastoral support for students and have a keen interest in teaching. We welcome applicants from all specialities, including Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Services, acute and community services.

Applicants must have a degree and be currently registered with NMC as a Registered Children’s Nurse. Successful applicants will be well supported to develop personally and professionally and would be offered a place on the University’s highly regarded Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education Programme, which is recordable with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
