Part-time, fixed-term (0.5 FTE - Weds, Thurs, Fri - 12 months)
We are searching for a highly experienced and driven individual to join our team as Head of Communications. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a busy team, working closely with other departments across the University. This role leads the external relations strategy through earned and owned media channels; develops strategic plans for our international, national, and regional communications; as well as shaping our internal communications to students and staff.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a team of 8 communication specialists (internal and external communications).
- Media and stakeholder relations.
- Crisis and issues management.
- Building and managing the University's reputation.
It’s vital that you have the knowledge, presence, and gravitas to build valuable relationships with senior colleagues across the University. You'll have a strong record of delivering communications that drive change. You will be able to demonstrate robust knowledge and experience of the HE sector, media and stakeholder relations, and marketing, as well as the political landscape. You will be an inclusive leader with significant experience of creating and developing high performing teams.
