Detail information about job Teaching Fellow in Software Engineering. Terms and conditions vacancy

South Kensington Campus

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is a leading department among the UK Universities with a reputation for excellence in both teaching and research. The department is part of the Faculty of Engineering and provides five degree programmes for approximately 750 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The post holder will be part of the team responsible for organizing, delivering and innovation of teaching and support.

Applications are invited for a Teaching Fellow in Software Engineering responsible for teaching computer science related topics using the best pedagogical tools that deliver the required learning outcomes and ensure student engagement. An important aspect of the post is the design and dissemination of on-line learning support techniques and tools within a blended learning strategy.

The tasks will include but not be limited to, the design and teaching of computer science related topics in an electrical engineering environment using a blended learning strategy; inspiring and supporting the student cohort in learning the theoretical and practical aspects of object oriented programming; and assessing under- and postgraduate students on their level of attainment of the learning outcomes. The post holder will be expected to lead the design and dissemination of blended learning strategies within the department.

The post-holder will join our current very active teaching fellows team who own different self-designed teaching modules that are popular with the student cohort. The team is also strongly involved in pedagogically based teaching innovation. The teaching fellow career path is based on the Learning and Teaching job family of Imperial College London that can lead to a Professorship of Practice Education.

Applicants should have a MEng/Msc (or equivalent) in a computing or electrical engineering related topic and a proven ability to lecture and develop teaching resources to a high standard within a blended learning environment. Enthusiasm for teaching and a passion for student learning support are essential. The post holder will be expected to exercise initiative and put into practice procedures needed to implement the vision of the Department.
