Location: Joseph Priestley Building  

The Faculty of Arts, Design and Media (ADM) have a vacancy for a Senior Projects Finance Officer, reporting to the Deputy Faculty Financial Controller. ADM has a very considerable portfolio of research and enterprise activity across its ten schools. Research and enterprise income is currently around £2.75m per annum and is set to grow significantly in the next few years.

The post involves working closely with respective research and enterprise support teams on the development of new bids as well as the financial control of live projects including the accurate and timely submission of claims and invoices. The post holder will need to build effective relationships with project managers. The role will require liaison with external funding agencies and auditors as needed.      

The creation and effective interpretation of financial project reporting is also critical to the role. Experience of external funding sources such as research councils, the Arts Council, ERDF and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships is essential. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, organisation and interpersonal skills and the ability to innovate and improve existing financial processes.

The post holder will be joining an experienced and enthusiastic faculty finance team of ten staff. The job is based in the Parkside building but there will be a requirement to travel to alternative locations as required. Experience of working in a similar environment is essential.
