Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract 1st November 2017 to 31st December 2018Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with occasional evening and weekend working required.

Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University? We have an exciting opportunity in the Financial Support Team, Student Support & Guidance for someone looking to use their skills in financial support schemes.

Student Services has a wide remit with teams supporting the whole Student Journey, including student recruitment, student support and Employability/careers. This post will be based in the Student Support and Guidance (SSG) Section of the Student Services Department. SSG consists of a team of 31 staff. The section provides a service to international students, students in financial hardship, students of diverse and non-traditional ages and backgrounds, students in crisis and includes the University’s Multi-Faith Chaplaincy.

As Financial Support Officer, you will carry out work in the context of the University’s widening participation strategy and international strategy as well as other major areas of work: Transitions and Equality & Diversity. Your key responsibility will be processing financial support applications. You will provide excellent customer services, responding to enquirers about a variety of financial support schemes. You will contribute to information and guidance about a variety of schemes for potential and current students and represent the Financial Support team and the University at key internal events and meetings.

You will have excellent IT skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with confidence. A commitment to excellent customer service is essential. Working in a busy office, you will be highly organised, self-motivated and able to work using initiative. You will have the ability to prioritise workloads and show good judgement with confidential matters.
