Overview: Learning Futures plays a key role in achieving the University's learning and teaching vision, under the guidance of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic).  The centre provides leadership across the University community in forwarding an integrated institutional learning and teaching agenda that transforms the Griffith student experience and reaffirms Griffith as a University of influence. The University is committed to enhancing our student’s capacities for learning and academic success and facilitating staff member’s understanding about ‘how students learn’. Learning Futures is seeking to build its strategic capability and expand its leadership by appointing a Deputy Director (Learning Transformation).

This is a continuing, full time position based at the Nathan campus.

The role:  The Deputy Director (Learning Transformation) will work as a member of the centre’s Executive team and will enhance Griffith’s learning futures by developing and driving a coordinated strategy across the University for advancing the responsiveness and personalisation of student learning.  The role will lead the development, deployment and evaluation of innovative, evidence-informed and sustainable digital solutions (e.g., staff and student facing analytics, adaptive feedback to students, predictive and real-time student success systems) for facilitating student’s learning and persistence.

The person:  You will have a proven record in the design and delivery of high quality learning experiences within technology-enhanced learning environments and will demonstrate a high level of knowledge of current scholarship and good practice in technology-enhanced learning, student success, learning analytics and adaptive learning. You will have a distinguished record of scholarship in learning and teaching and be committed to actively contributing to thought leadership both nationally and internationally.

You will possess high level leadership and organisational skills and have the ability to build strategic relationships and partnerships to achieve outcomes. You will be able to influentially communicate learning and teaching matters to a wide range of disciplines and roles. You will be committed to evidence-informed practice and scholarly evaluation of innovations.  You will be seeking to lead in a stimulating, challenging and rewarding professional environment and working collaboratively as part of a whole-of-university transformation agenda.

Salary range: A salary package that includes a base salary commensurate at Associate Professor, Level D ($133,778 - $147,383) or Professor, Level E ($172,326), and an employer superannuation contribution of 17% of base salary will be offered. Attractive salary packaging arrangements are also available.
