Newman University has an excellent reputation for student support. The University offers initial teacher training, joint and single honours, and full and part-time foundation degree courses. 

Newman Dyslexia Support Services embraces a positive view of dyslexia which encourages students to develop metacognitive and strategy-based approaches to academic skills development. The Service works in partnership with students to maximise learning strengths within individualised sessions. Our primary goal is to support students to reflect on dyslexia as an aspect that shapes how they approach learning and to empower them to become autonomous, transformed self-advocates. As the Service is growing, we now wish to increase our pool of specialist support tutors.

Specialist Dyslexia Support Tutors will possess a minimum requirement of a degree and relevant recognised qualification in line with the DSA-QAG requirements. Applicants must have a strong understanding of dyslexia and appropriate teaching strategies. Experience of teaching/supporting adults is essential.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are available to provide support at various times during the week which may include evenings and weekends.
