FTE: Full time position working 37 hours per week

Duration of Contract: Fixed term contract for a period of 5 years

The Department of Pharmacy, Pharmacology and Postgraduate Medicine at the University of Hertfordshire is a vibrant research active community that employs over 100 academic and research staff. The Department is seeking to appoint a five year fixed term Teaching and Research Assistant in Pharmaceutics, who will as part of this role undertake a PhD part time.

Main duties & responsibilities

Work with the pharmaceutics and other discipline teams on the delivery of teaching programmes across the Department. The successful applicant is expected to enrol, part-time, for a research degree (normally an MPhil leading to a PhD). The research programme being offered is the development of an in vitro/ ex vivo model to predict skin irritation and sensitisation caused by the application of topical products.

Skills and experience needed

The successful post holder would be expected to have some experience and knowledge of pharmaceutics, be able to work own initiative and as part of a team, have good organisational skills and be proficient in the English language.

Qualifications required

Applicants must have a minimum of a good honours degree in pharmacy, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or other related scientific discipline.
