Detail information about job Researcher in Evidence-Synthesis. Terms and conditions vacancy

We are seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher in the field of evidence synthesis. The position has arisen as a result of two initiatives. The first is the establishment of the NIHR School for Primary Care Research (SPCR) Evidence Synthesis Working Group (ESWG). This 3-year programme grant, led by Professor Carl Heneghan, is collaboration of all nine members of the SPCR, involving at least 40 individual contributors. The ESWG program will develop and advance the field of evidence synthesis.

The second new initiative is the MSc in Evidence Based Health Care (Systematic Reviews). This is a joint programme between the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences and the Department for Continuing Education's Continuing Professional Development Centre. The Programme works in collaboration with the renowned Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine in Oxford.

The appointee will be responsible for delivering a suite of systematic reviews, under the guidance of senior colleagues, within the Evidence Synthesis Working Group. They will also provide a teaching and supervisory contribution to the new MSc in Systematic Reviews.

The successful applicant will have a PhD in a relevant area, with experience of working in a research environment, a commitment to undertaking evidence synthesis, and an interest in furthering their career in applied health research.

This is a fixed-term post available full-time for 3 years. The successful applicant would be a member of the Centre for Evidence Based Medicine team, led by Professor Carl Heneghan (Director), Dr Kamal R. Mahtani (Deputy Director) and Ms Ruth Davis (Centre Manager) and based in the Radcliffe Observatory quarter in central Oxford.

Potential applicants who would like to discuss the post please contact Dr Kamal R. Mahtani ([email protected]).
