Please be advised that due to a new minimum salary threshold of £30,000 per annum imposed by the UKVI, this post may not qualify for University sponsorship under Tier 2 of the points based system.

Contributing to the development of new methodology in the fields of evidence synthesis and horizon scanning, you will undertake routine searching reporting, carry out evidence briefings, rapid evidence synthesis (narrative and meta-analytic) and scoping reviews. The post also holds the opportunity for personal / academic development (higher degree / equivalent).

You will hold a first degree in health services research, public health, information science, health technology assessment or a closely related subject, with substantial experience to a similar level.

You will have excellent computing/IT skills (Endnote, Microsoft packages especially Access) along with substantial experience of online searching, preferably in the field of health care. In addition you will have experience of critical appraisal and have excellent communication skills since an integral part of this role will be to liaise with a wider multidisciplinary team of data analysts and specialists.

National Institute for Health Research Innovation Observatory (NIHRIO) is a new £10M initiative, funded by the National Institute for Health Research and based in Newcastle upon Tyne which will bring together, in one centre, data scientists, evidence synthesis experts, software engineers and systematic reviewers to create a critical mass of expertise in observing and reporting on health innovation in the UK and beyond utilising next generational digital analytics. NIHRIO is hosted by the National Centre for Smart Data Innovation and National Innovation Centre for Ageing, a £60million investment by central government.

This post is available fixed term initially for 2 years as part of a 5 year programme, with a possibility for extension.
