Information Services, NHS National Services Scotland collects, validates, interprets and disseminates information on Health, and Health and Social Care in Scotland, providing support and advice to the Scottish Executive Department of Health, NHS Board, social care organisations, and to a variety of professional bodies and researchers.
The Scottish Cancer Trial Research Unit (SCTRU) forms part of CaCTUS (Cancer Clinical Trials Unit Scotland) which is a partnership between the Cancer Research UK Trials Unit in Glasgow and the Scottish Cancer Trial Research Unit in Edinburgh. CaCTUS is a UKCRC registered trials unit and offers support for all aspects of the management of clinical trials.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Trial Co-ordinator to join the Scottish Cancer Trials Research Unit, working in a team of trial management professionals running a varied portfolio of clinical trials and related sub-studies, mainly in cancer. This is a permanent full-time post.
You will be educated to degree level in a scientific discipline or have equivalent long term experience in working on clinical research trials. Additionally, demonstrable and significant work experience in the co-ordination and administration of clinical trials, along with a solid understanding of clinical research and the regulatory environment is required. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the working of the SCTRU. Excellent communication skills are required as the post-holder will be expected to liaise with internal and external stakeholders including Chief Investigators and their research teams.
The successful candidate must comply with the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland 2009; and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
