Detail information about job Research Support Partner (Arts and Law). Terms and conditions vacancy

Full time starting salary is normally in the range £39,324 to £46,924. With potential progression once in post to £52,793 a year.

The University of Birmingham is making important things happen and our College of Arts and Law is at the forefront of this. Following an excellent outcome in REF2014, the College has continued to develop and grow and the University is investing in excellent talent across academic and professional services to support the delivery of our Strategy 2020.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Research Manager to lead a team of five research development professionals supporting the College of Arts and Law in further developing and growing its research portfolio through the winning of successful research grants. The post of Research Development Team Lead plays a key partner role in the delivery of the research support dedicated to the College of Arts and Law and in the wider infrastructure for research support across the University of Birmingham led by Research Support Services.

As one of five College Research Support Partners, you will report to the Head of Strategic Research Development in Research Support Services and be part of a vibrant community of research support professionals both in the College, as part of a larger Research and Knowledge Transfer Team, and across the University. You and your team will be physically based in the College, ensuring a balance between local delivery to the academics in the College and integration with the wider research support ecosystem across the University.

Educated with at least an honours degree and preferably a PhD in a discipline clearly related to the College’s core areas of academic activity, it is expected that the successful applicant will have a proven track record in supporting the development of internationally excellent research, preferably in a higher education setting, with demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the strategic issues impacting higher education and the research and knowledge transfer environment within the UK. You will also have a proven track record in contributing to winning bids and a commitment to the delivery of exceptional customer service. The post calls for a highly self-motivated research development professional who will lead a team to support the delivery of ambitious targets for research funding capture in the College.

Whilst the post is offered full-time on a permanent basis, applications for part-time working at 0.8FTE may be considered.

These are exciting times for the College, the University and the UK. Would you like to be part of a team supporting research that matters?
