We are looking for a highly motivated graduate research assistant with a BSc 2:1 in a relevant discipline such as biochemistry or natural sciences, experience in phenotyping and cell culture and an interest in cardiovascular health and disease. Alongside a postdoctoral researcher, you will use in vivo models, primary cell characterisation and molecular techniques to investigate the role of novel candidate genes in atherosclerosis.

Your main duties will involve in vivo cardiovascular phenotyping and performing and analysing experiences such as western blotting and immunohistochemistry. You will also be responsible for the generation, maintenance and characterisation of primary cell cultures. Proven recent experience in these areas is essential along with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. Proven experience in cardiovascular science is desirable.

You will be based at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, Old Road Campus, Roosevelt Drive, Oxford which provides an outstanding working environment, with excellent core facilities and opportunities for interactions.

This full-time post is available immediately and is fixed-term until 31 July 2021 funded by the British Heart Foundation.
