Detail information about job Research Associate. Terms and conditions vacancy
You will analyse data and write papers on early life determinants of cardiovascular structure and function in early adult life. For this you will use data from the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) cohort. This study has collected detailed information on growth and development since birth of ~14 thousand people. At age 17 and 24 years, a detailed cardiovascular assessment was performed including echocardiography, measures of large vessel structure and function, ambulatory blood pressure, and metabolic status. Genetic, metabolomics and epigenetic data are also available. Post holders will work in a strong, multi-disciplinary unit that focuses on the determinants and consequences of cardiometabolic disease, and will have opportunities to work on other population cohorts at UCL. Post holders are also encouraged to collaborate with our colleagues in Bristol who lead the ALSPAC cohort, and with other research groups at UCL.
This post is funded for 2 years in the first instance.
The candidate should have a PhD (or equivalent degree). Candidates will have published research papers, and show evidence of strong analytical skills.
Applicants should apply online. To access further details about the position and how to apply please click on the 'Apply' button below.
