Detail information about job The Cinema and Television History Research Centre MA by Research Scholarship. Terms and conditions vacancy

The Cinema and Television History (CATH) Research Centre at De Montfort University, Leicester is offering a full MA by Research bursary in any area of research that falls under the title of the Centre. We are particularly interested in candidates who propose to carry out investigative work in the Centre’s own or other archives. This award is open to UK and EU students who hold a first class undergraduate degree and who wish to pursue a doctoral programme upon the completion of their MA by Research (a 30,000 word thesis).

De Montfort University is a member of the Arts and Humanities Research Council’s ‘Midlands Three Cities Consortium’ (M3C), with five regional partners (University of Nottingham, University of Birmingham, University of Leicester, Nottingham Trent University and Birmingham City University). Membership in the consortium offers the opportunity for DMU students to apply for the M3C’s Doctoral Training Programme (DTP), a prestigious award that provides tremendous training and partnership opportunities.

The MA research scholarship covers tuition fees and provides a generous bursary of £12,000 for a period of one academic year. It is envisaged that successful applicants will submit an application to the AHRC/M3C doctoral funding competition towards the end of their tenure and in addition to their research obligations.

The scholarship will commence in October 2017.

To apply for the CATH Centre Scholarship applicants must submit a current CV, two academic references, application and application annexe forms, a short research proposal, scanned copies of most relevant certificates and transcripts and a summary of academic interests.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in mid-September 2017.

The deadline for applications is Friday 8 September 2017.
