Detail information about job Cancer Research UK Oxford Centre Training Project Manager. Terms and conditions vacancy

Cancer research at Oxford University is spread across the City with departments in the central Science Area, the Old Road Campus, the John Radcliffe Hospital, the Churchill Hospital and Commercial Science Parks. This combined expertise contributes to our efforts to increase cancer cure rates. The Cancer Research-UK Oxford Centre is committed to ensuring that the breadth and depth of this expertise is harnessed through multi-disciplinary collaborative projects.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Training Project Manager to be responsible for delivering the Centre’s training programmes as defined by the Training Lead and Training Committee. The Centre’s Training Strategy is to educate and train the translational cancer researchers of tomorrow to maximise the impact of Oxford research in the global fight against cancer. As part of this role, you will develop proposals to enhance cancer teaching and training for pre-clinical and clinical trainees, working with the Medical School and Oxford University Clinical Academic Graduate School. You will also be required to establish the feasibility of running a Translational Oncology Masters programme which will include the building of a business plan and seeking appropriate approval from appropriate Departmental and University authorities.

You will need to have a PhD and/or Masters level education in relevant sciences, or equivalent experience. Demonstrable experience of the administrative processes associated with the establishment, management and running of an academic training programme is also essential, together with proven ability of having been responsible for managing links between projects, and contributions to them from a range of stakeholders.

This is a full-time post, available until 31 March 2019.

All applicants must complete an application form and supporting statement.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 15 September 2017.

This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Tier 2 visa under the points based immigration system. However, applications are welcome from candidates who don’t currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a visa via another route.

Please note that the University of Oxford's retirement policy is changing. With effect from October 1 2017, all employees at Grade 8 and above will have a retirement age of 68, and all employees at Grades 6 and 7 will no longer have a set retirement age.
