Detail information about job Research Information Manager. Terms and conditions vacancy

Full time, permanent position based Liverpool

The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, LSTM aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.

Reporting to the Head of Research Management Services, the position of Research Information Manager is a pivotal role for the organisation, as it will work across the broad spectrum of LSTM departments and manage all aspects of the collection, retention and interpretation of research information within our rapidly growing organisation. Key responsibilities of the incumbent will be the coordination of information in support of the LSTM submission for the next REF (Research Excellence Framework) exercise, as well as being the secretariat and the organisational function of LSTM’s Research Committee.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideal candidates will have a demonstrable track record of success working in a professional administrative role in a similar Research and Development, or technical implementation environment. Your line management experience, coupled with a detailed appreciation of the funding environment for research, consultancy and technical assistance (both in the UK and overseas), should mean you are able to demonstrate the level of experience and gravitas required for this key post. We require an individual who is experienced when using complex information for analysis, is comfortable in presenting findings, both at meetings and in report format and can demonstrate experience of being able to steer meetings towards strategic objectives.

Further details of this post can be found by visiting our website at: www.lstmed.ac.uk/vacancies

This job is unlikely to attract a Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship (formerly a work permit). Applications from candidates who require Tier 2 immigration status to work in the UK may not be considered if there are a sufficient number of other suitable candidates. To apply for a Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship, employers need to demonstrate that they are unable to recruit a resident worker before recruiting an individual overseas.

We believe that this post will not be suitable for individuals on Tier 5 visas as these posts are not considered to be supernumerary to the organisation. For further details, please visit the UKVI website: www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration
