Technology Directorate
We are seeking to recruit a Biobank Manager at the Technology Directorate’s newly established Liverpool University Biobank (LUB). You will have a relevant degree in biomedical sciences and expertise in processing human material for molecular, morphological and immunohistochemical analyses. Candidates with experience of managing a biobank are particularly encouraged to apply. Consideration will also be given to less experienced candidates who can demonstrate the necessary drive and vision to develop the role.
You will be based in the LUB facility that underpins the clinical research undertaken in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences and is regulated by procedures and standards set by the Human Tissue Authority. In conjunction with a member of technical staff, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the LUB. You will become the manager of an expanding team and report to the academic lead for the facility, Dr Alfirevic. You will be fully conversant with all regulatory and governance processes associated with the taking, storing and using of human samples in research. The post is available for 2 years initially.
