Detail information about job Research Fellow (0.8FTE). Terms and conditions vacancy
Permanent or length of contract: Fixed Term - 18 Months
The Directorate of Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work and Social Sciences (School of Health and Society as of 1st September 2017) aims for excellence in both teaching and research. Academic staff have a role that integrates these two disciplines and delivers research informed teaching and practice.
The Midwifery research group works across disciplines but is most closely associated with the Knowledge, Health and Place Research group of the School.
The Midwifery Neonatal Specialist team have recently won a substantial commercial contract to undertake a maternal observational study into infant skin integrity in the nappy/diaper area from birth to eight weeks of age.
The primary role of the Research Fellow will be to collect, process and interpret data relevant to the aims of the project. On one level this work will involve assisting the PI/Co-I in establishing relationships with community/hospital midwives and local NHS Trust partners, working with the Research Data Collectors to recruit women/parents to the study, processing and analysing data. On a broader level it will contribute to the establishment of an evidence base regarding neonatal skin care.
The role is inherently complex combining research with proactive stakeholder and user engagement, marketing, management and supervision. The role will also be inextricably linked to the production of high quality publication and dissemination both in the UK and internationally in partnership with the research team. To help us with this project, we wish to recruit a committed, enthusiastic researcher with excellent communication skills and a keen interest in research related to women and families.
Please note this vacancy will close on the date specified at 11.59pm.
