Do you have a passion for sustainable farming and forestry? Do you want to join a motivated team in sunny Gisborne? An exciting opportunity exists to join the Environmental Services Team in the sustainable management of land and soil resources.
In this role you will:
- provide technical input to resource consents that relate to forestry, earthworks, natural hazards and vegetation clearance
- contribute to policy development around land and soil management and sustainable land use
- implement methods such as education, advocacy, monitoring and enforcement in the fields of land stability and land use capability
You will need:
- a relevant degree and two years of work experience in sustainable land management, soil conservation or a related field
- have excellent communication skills
- ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with farmers, foresters, tangata whenua and communities
- confident computer skills
- ability to read and interpret plans, diagrams and regulations
- A current, clean full driver’s licence
