WaikatoLink Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the University responsible for identifying, managing and commercialising the University’s intellectual property (IP).
Reporting to the General Manager (Commercial), you will be part of a team identifying, championing and realising opportunities for the University of Waikato to commercialise IP, technologies and services, and transfer research-based know-how that creates value for New Zealand, stakeholders and the University. You will work closely with the academic staff at the University and industry partners.
To be successful, you will need to have experience working in the New Zealand business innovation system, involvement in technology business development, start-ups or have experience in a business advisory capacity. You must understand the challenges of funding opportunities, be able to analyse financial information and understand technical concepts quickly to recommend decisions. Business case development, excellent written and oral communication and project management skills are essential. A technical/science or business qualification is highly desirable.
