About the business and the role
Addiction Foods NZ Ltd is the manufacturer of global pet food brands – Addiction and Wishbone. We operate and New Zealand's largest dry pet food plant in Te Puke, Bay of Plenty, where we manufacture and export the highest quality pet foods in the world. We are passionate about pets and "We go to the Ends of The Earth for your Pet" by only using the highest quality raw materials in the cleanest place in the world to produce pet food. These and many other brands are manufactured and shipped globally from our Te Puke manufacturing facility.
With good business growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Food Technologist who is responsible for safe and efficient development, modification and manufacture of food products and processes.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Manage projects, plan and coordinate project activities, communicate progress and challenges

Lead or supporting new product ideas, ingredients, formulas, and processing as well as optimizing cost and efficiency on existing formulas and processes

Supporting the testing of ingredients and processes using Design of Experiments

Support the Site Manager to implement process improvements to increase efficiency and yield

Lead and manage new product development
-
Lead and implement new processing lines
Skills and experience
-
Preferably Master's Degree in Food Technology, Food Science or any related field
-
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the food industry

Good quality management experience
-
Solid analytical skills and computer proficiency

Detail oriented
-
Excellent English Communication Skills both oral and written

With good scholastic records from a reputable school
