Our client is a NZ-owned biotechnology company primarily focused on the development and manufacture of sterile chemical injectables and vaccines from viral and bacterial sources. The recent commissioning of their state-of-the-art sterile manufacturing and biocontainment (PC level 2) facilities has opened up an exciting opportunity to be part of this very reputable NZ company.
  
As one of the few GMP approved sterile manufacturing facilities here in NZ, this position will be responsible for working at the highest levels of manufacturing quality.  As such, candidates will need to have a suitable background in science (ideally biotechnology, microbiology or similar), preferably some previous experience in sterile and fermented product manufacture, and acute attention to detail.  Just as importantly though, you will need to be a team player with excellent communication skills and the desire to work in an environment that you are passionate about.
  
Reporting to the Production Manager, this is a Monday to Friday role working 8am to 4:30pm with very little requirement for overtime and your responsibilities will be shared out across the small but close-knit production team.
  
The ideal candidate will have:

• A tertiary qualification in Biological Sciences, such as Microbiology, Biochemistry or Biotechnology.
• Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills.
• An aptitude to work systematically and carefully with all company equipment.
• Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing would be advantageous but not necessary.
