About the business
Egmont Honey is a family founded honey company based in New Plymouth and Hawera. Egmont Honey has a great team of staff and currently exports to 18 countries around the world. Recently we opened a state of the art honey packing plant in New Plymouth.
About the role
Our current Technical Manager is leaving us is late August to pursue his own start up business and we sincerely wish him all the best.
This has opened up an exciting opportunity to be involve d with New Zealand's fastest growing honey company as our Technical Manager. As Technical Manager you will work closely with the production team and senior management to allocate honey and work on a number of exciting new NPD projects.
You will have assistance from a Junior QA manager who will be your direct report.
With recent implementation of a scientific definition for Manuka Honey by MPI you will need to understand and work a lot with chemical markers. This will require navigation of our purpose-built database. It will also require very strong Excel skills to manage inventory and final allocations of each honey batch.
While experience in the NZ honey industry would be a real bonus, it is not essential. If you are skilled with numbers, Excel and practical minded when it comes to the factory facility you will pick up industry specific knowledge quickly.
