About the group
MSD’s Property and Facilities group provides safe, fit for purpose environments for our people. The Property Operations team is responsible for the Property Management of a nationwide portfolio of leased and owned commercial and residential properties. The team is based in Rotorua and Wellington with one senior property manager in Auckland. Property Management functions include lease management, portfolio planning, asset and facilities management, and workplace design.
About the role
In this role you work alongside the Auckland senior property manager and provide facilities management services, as well as some property and asset management services across the Auckland commercial and residential property portfolio. You are a key on-the-ground resource and will partner with our Rotorua based facilities management team and Wellington-based property managers to ensure sites and assets perform and support our customer’s services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with Auckland regional managers, site managers and staff, landlords, contractors and various other stakeholders.
- Day-to-day repairs and maintenance of property assets in Auckland.
- Compliance with all property related acts and regulations.
- Some lease preparation, lease renewals and rent reviews.
- Project management of small to medium scale capital projects such as office improvements, refurbishments and reconfigurations,
- Provide valuable input into strategic planning and asset management.
About you
As hands on, experienced facilities management expert, you will hit the ground running and make an immediate impact on the management and day-to-day running of the Auckland property portfolio. A natural people person with a strong customer focus, you will build strong rapport with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A proven background in facilities management and preferably commercial property management experience.
- A strong client focus – you give high priority to anticipating customer needs and ensuring client satisfaction.
- A friendly manner and willingness to work collaboratively with others to accomplish organisation goals.
- Computer proficiency and a working knowledge of databases and spread sheet packages including Excel.
- Awareness of, or familiarity with government property procurement practices.
- A drivers licence – you will be willing to undertake site visits as part of your normal day.
Please note, for the first month you will be expected to be based in National Office (Wellington) one day per week, and then one day per month from then on (or, as required).
