The Prudential Supervision department is responsible for advising on the structure, regulation and supervision of the New Zealand financial system as it relates to banks, non-banks, insurers and payments systems.
The Reserve Bank has a new and exciting Analyst role in our newly established Industry Insights and Thematics team. The Industry Insights and Thematics team is responsible for providing technical analysis and advice to our Supervision and Policy teams, as well as thematic reviews across supervised entities.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- working with team members on thematic reviews related to banking and insurance sector industry issues
- analysing banking and insurance data and providing insights on industry risks
- providing advice on the design and implementation of new supervisory and policy initiatives
- providing support on technical matters to members of the Banking and Insurance Supervision teams.
To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:
- professional experience from the public and/or private sector in the areas of banking and/or finance
- recent industry experience in the financial sector (ideally in the Risk area) is desirable
- demonstrated capability in qualitative and quantitative risk analysis
- strong academic qualifications in related fields
- well-developed interpersonal skills with a track record in being effective in relationship management
- the ability to be a collaborative team player with a positive, enthusiastic 'can-do' attitude
- a familiarity with the legal, accounting and economic environments within which banks and insurers operate.
