About the business

The Upper Hutt Cossie Club Inc. was formed in 1961 and completely destroyed by fire in 2003. The Club was rebuilt and re-opened in 2005 and is one of the leading clubs in New Zealand. In recent years the club has won many prestigious awards including:

  • Wellington Business Awards - Tourism and Hospitality Winner
  • Upper Hutt Business of the Year
  • Top Shop Retail Excellence
  • Best Bar/Club/Tavern at the Upper Hutt business awards on three occasions
  • 2013  finalist in the prestigious Wellington Gold awards

The club which is a member of Clubs NZ has a membership of over 7800. The reason the club continues to enjoy exceptional growth is because of its magnificent modern facilities complimented by a comprehensive entertainment calendar which appeals to the whole family.

About the role

Full time Chef required for busy restaurant.

Work days - Wednesday to Sunday

Hours between 1300 and 2130 with over time available

    Skills and experience

    Expected work Skills required.

    • Minimum of  three years in the industry as a Chef / Cook
    • Function and Grill experience
    • Front line operator
    • Assist with menu planning  
    • Team and customer focused
    • Great communicator
    • Can do attitude
    • Eye for detail
    • Food safety focused
    • Well organised
    • Open to new challenges.
