We are on the hunt for a friendly efficient Chef/Cook to join our catering team at a busy Girls Boarding School.
This role is based in Timaru, South Canterbury and requires working varied shifts for 30 hours a week.
This is a fixed 12-month term contract to cover maternity leave and is term time only unless required.
We operate seven days a week during term time to deliver catering for approx. 120 boarding students. We also provide a café for days students Monday to Friday and cater a variety of school functions.
On the job training and support is always available.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Food Preparation, cooking and serving a variety of dishes to a consistent high standard
- Achieving all safety, hygiene and food quality targets
- General kitchen cleaning duties
- Providing excellent customer service to students and clients
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- A passion for quality food and customer service
- Previous experience in food preparation
- An ability to work well within a team environment
- Wonderful time management
- The highest standards of food hygiene and health and safety
